Hey, there! Doctor Kleinberg here with your healthy minute tip for your well-being. Chronic pain: what is that? A lot of doctors/chiropractors use that term, but what does it actually mean? What it means is it is a condition of pain that has continued on for probably at least three months or more.
People have had an injury, and they didn’t have it looked at in the early stages and now it has gotten to the point where they’re constantly in pain, they have restriction of motion. Let’s say it’s a shoulder pain that they haven’t dealt with.
So, what you do about that? Well, it is very important, obviously, to come in and see a chiropractor like myself and have that assessed properly. At this stage, it may require more intervention, some imaging, may be an X-ray or an ultrasound to determine what kind of injury is there. But the most important thing to remember about chronic pain and chronic injuries is that there are treatments for that.
And you don’t have to resign yourself to the idea that it’s going to go on for the rest of my life, it’s never going to get better. That does not have to be the case, the most important thing is to have it looked at, have it properly assessed and that way you can have it treated, hopefully resolved, and you do not have to live with pain for the rest of your life. Have a healthy day!
